Hello there! Thank your for your post. In my over 20 years of experience in teaching English, building vocabulary is like building muscle—it grows with consistent, smart practice.
Here are 3 powerful ways I teach students to build vocabulary that transforms writing:
A. Learn in context, not in lists
- Don’t just memorize random words. Learn words in sentences and topics you care about.
B. Use what you learn
- Write short sentences or mini-stories using 3-5 new words every day. If you don’t use them, you lose them!
C. Read like a writer
- Read news articles, essays, and stories. Notice how writers use words and copy their style.
A strong vocabulary lets you express ideas clearly and impress examiners.
When you practice with me, I’ll help you build a personal “word bank” and show you how to make your writing shine without sounding forced.
