To convert from mass to moles, we first need the molar mass of magnesium chloride (MgCl2):
Molar massMgCl2 = (Molar massmagnesium) + 2(Molar masschlorine)
= (24.31g/mol) + 2(35.45g/mol) = 95.21g/mol
Then, we divide the mass by the molar mass:
