Hi,
My daughter Vivienne just completed a session with a tutor and the 1 hr and 15 min session is not available under the "recorded sessions". Can you please retrieve the recording. I only see a 1 minute recording in my Wyzant Profile. We need access to the video in case Vivienne has questions.

Hi Anita,
What I have discovered about the recordings after many years tutoring here is this:
Sessions will become available in approximately the same length of time as the session. So, a one hour session would be ready about 60 minutes after the session ends. An hour and a half session would be available in 90 minutes etc.
In your case however I think something may have gone wrong with the recording. Technology is amazing - when it works. Unfortunately, sometimes, for reasons beyond anyone's control it simply doesn't. I think that in your case there may have been connection issues near the beginning of the session you are trying to access. When one or the other participant has to disconnect and reconnect to the session I have found that-that is a sure fire way to trigger a malfunction in the recording process.
Unfortunately, once the session is interrupted the recording process seems to be stopped, and it does not resume once reconnected. Further, the sudden disconnection can cause the recording file to malfunction, so even if the interruption happens 30 minutes into the session the entire recording becomes corrupted. :(
Most of the time Wyzant's system works just fine, but for very important subjects or sessions you/or your tutor might be able to record the session locally, as a redundant back-up.
