ESOL is an English acronym for "a secondary language" whereby the student's cultural framework or target language is implied. According to Dr. Avram Noam Chomsky, U.S linguist and educator, Language learning is a biological factor. We are born with a (L.A.D) Language Acquisition Device, which enables humans to biologically create the rules of grammar. For instance, a normal toddler thinks: House is singular; ergo house is made plural by adding an "s" houses for plurals. But what about "mouse" ? No, it is not "mouses."
Language is not just biological, according to Ruth Benedict and Margaret Meade. These social anthropologists posit that culture with its traditions, heritage, traditional values, ethos, logos, pathos, or rhetorical perspective, composes its grammar rules.
However, the scientist must question the political rhetoric of current "conspiracy theorist" or "Don't believe what I say . . . . ." a form of . . . . . "alternate reality". . . . . to the realm of real politics or "die Weltanschauung" or "the world view," its ideology, or the "apparatus of propaganda"----its "Apparatchik,---(Aldous Huxley, 1984 (Stalin's 1948) and George Orwell's "Brave New World" signify an alternate reality "the military, the religion, the organ of propaganda, a form of alternate reality communication, or the "Ministry of Truth." According to the language of Pablo Freire, all language is political, so we cannot the escape the "prism of the mind" or according to Forrest Gump, Life is . . . . "
