At the beginning of the book, Auggie felt seperated from other kids his age. He felt as if he was an "obligation" to others as opposed to a benefit or support. Also, at the beginning he was extremely scared and timid about entering school for the first time. He was unsure of himself as well as the "friends" that he made within the first few months. Throughout the course of the book Auggie learns not only to trust others, but believe in himself and the power that one person's attitude/life can have on another. He became more sure of himself, and in turn became more confident. He changed from the timid and unsure student to a confident and supportive friend to others. He wasn't afraid of being the center of attention, nor was he ashamed of the way he looks. I hope this explanation helps :)

In the book Wonder, Auggie felt different from the other students. At the end of the book, he felt more confident and sure of himself.05/08/20
