what is b2 + 3w2 balanced
If you are looking to complete a reaction between boron and tungsten, and you wish the reactant coefficients to indeed be 1 and 3, then the tungsten is in excess for producing tungsten boride.
The known forms of tungsten boride are W2B, WB, WB2 and WB4, Therefore, two possible results are
B2 + 3 W2 ===> 2 W2B + W2
B2 + 3 W2 ===> 2 WB + 2 W2
If you only require that the reactants be in a 1:3 ratio (2:6, etc.), then balanced reactions with integer coefficients for the other forms of the boride can be written.

Elemental (pure) boron exists in several allotropic forms, both crystalline and amorphous. Amorphous boron contains B12 icosahedra, which is also present in some crystalline forms. The gamma-orthorhombic state contains both B12 icosahedra and B2 pairs. The original question specified B2 as the reactant, so we are stuck with it...... ;-)02/05/24
