An ordered pair tells you how many units left and right you move (the x value) and how many units up and down you move (the y value) from the origin (where the x & y lines meet in the middle). An ordered pair is in the form of (x, y). Positive x values move right and negative x values move left. Positive y values move up and negative y values move down. If you have (2, -3), you would move 2 units to the right of the origin and then 3 units down.
