asked 06/27/23Looking for a tutor for my PMP
I am looking for someone that has experience working with adults that have dyslexia. I am currently a PM II and have worked in IT for 20 years. Test-taking has been a struggle for me. I took the test already in April and failed. I get special needs, more extended time, and the test read to me, but it's still a struggle. I have done a few simulations, read the Agil book, and currently using the pmtraining.com simulator. But get a 65%. I need to get to 80% to feel better to retake the test. Thoughts on how you could help me?

Dyslexia, ADHD, Lindamood Bell tutor with 18 years experience
Dear Stephen,
Do not despair! You are obviously an intelligent, capable, and resourceful person. You can deffinitely learn to read more efficiently and I would love to help you. In the past I've worked with adults including a person recovering from brain injury. Using the Lindamood Bell phonics program I would find any gaps in your knowledge and fill those in before moving on to your challenge level and working there to push your reading abilities further.
Sessions would be twice a week, or more. We'd work on learning phonemes, word attack skills, sight words, breaking words down into their invividual sounds, learning patterns within words or sequences of sounds, and applying that to spelling. Reading passages would be selected to be appropriate to your reading level and interests.
You are motivated and hard working, You can do this!
Warmly,
Ella
