The tank shown below is full of water. Using the fact that the weight of water is 62.5lb/ft^3, find the work (in ft-lbs) required to pump the water out of the outlet. Make sure your answer is correct to within ten ft-lbs.

Let's first find the total weight to be pumped out.

W = V x ρ = Volume (ft³) x 62.5 lb/ft³ = 62.5V lbs

Work = W x Δh => Think of the Center of Mass (average height for water)

W = 62.5V x h/2 = 31.25Vh where V: Volume of Water, h : height of water
