asked 04/08/23Force due to magnetic field from two perpendicular wires
Two wires, 1 and 2, are carrying currents I1 and I2. They are perpendicular to each other and separated by distance d.
What is the force exerted on a segment of wire 2 of length L from the point where they would have intersected if they were on the same plane.

I have a couple of problems with real values and the answer is actually not 0. Is it because although the wires are normal, they are still separated by a distance d in the z-axis, assuming that wire 1 is on the x-axis and wire 2 is parallel to the y-axis?04/08/23
