Math and science made easy - learn from a retired engineer
Calculate the molar mass of CO2 as follows:
C = 12.011 g/mol (from the periodic table) x (1 atom) = 12.011 g/mol
O = 15.999 g/mol (from the periodic table) x (2 atoms) = 31.998 g/mol
Add them up: 12.011 + 31.998 = 44.009 g/mol
Multiply 1.27 mol by 44.009 g/mol and you get 55.9 grams of CO2
