3. Transparency: In its pure form, it is transparent, clear, and colorless but is often colored with impurities to produce other colors.
4. Cleavage: None to seldom distinct
5. Crystallinity: α - Quartz is the thermodynamically stable form in ambient conditions, also known as crystalline silica
6. Fracture: Conchoidal (smooth, curved surfaces)
