In your case, I'd look at people with the job you want, then find out what degree(s) they have, both the name of the specific degree and where they went to school. (Is there anybody more advanced in your company who might be willing to advise you on your path? Definitely look for potential mentors who have "been there, done that.") Some companies have educational benefits for employees, so check to see if there is anything like that at yours. You'll also want to opportunities to get a degree while you work. Do you have a nearby community college?
Make sure that your time and money is being spent well, and that any degree will get you closer to your goals. Good luck!
