Hector traveled 6 hours nonstop to Mexico, Which was a total of 350 miles. He took a train part of the way, which averaged 75 mph, and then took a bus the remaining distance, which averaged 50 mph. How long was he on the train?

350=distance on the train+distance on the bus

350=75*t+50*(6-t)

350=75t+300-50t

350=25t+300

350-300=25t

50=25t

t=50/25

t=2 hours on the train (and 4 hours on the bus)
