How to get a tutor to respond?

Hello, I am new to Wyzant, and I am wondering if I am doing something wrong for me not to have received a response from two tutors who seem to have knowledge about the Marriage and Family Therapy courses. I created an account and followed the steps online, but I can't tell if they have read my message or not. Could I be missing a step?

Hi McKesur,

Sometimes it takes some tutors a little longer than others to respond to student requests for reasons unknown to the public. What can help students decide which tutor(s) they want to work with is a little header on the tutors' individual profiles that shows an average of how long (1 hour, less than one hour, 2 hours, etc.) it takes them to respond to students' outreach on WyzAnt.

Also, tutors sometimes decline student requests for their own reasons.

You are able to reach out to a total of five tutors at one time on WyzAnt if you please. That way, you are pretty much guaranteed that at least one of them will respond to you in the positive.

Alternatively, you could post your tutoring job(s) publicly on WyzAnt, and up to five tutors can and will respond to your post in due time.

At the end of the day, it is up to you, the student, to choose which tutor(s) you want to work with. Thankfully, there are lots of possibilities here at WyzAnt for that! Hopefully one or more of the tutors you have already reached out to will respond to you in the positive in due time.
