Concentration in molarity = moles of solute dissolved/ volume of the solution in liters
M = mol / V ……..(1)
equation (1) can be manipulated to calculate the number of moles.
mol = M * V. ……..(2)
in this problem: M = 0.180 M, V = 27.5 mL ( volume has to be in liters, you need to convert the volume in mL to L)
1 mL = 0.001 L
so, 27.5 mL = 27.5 mL x 0.001L / 1 mL. = 0.0275 L
substitute the number of moles and volume in L in equation (2)
moles of NaCl = 0.180 M. x 0.0275 L = 0.00495 mole.
