I HAVE A LAB DATA SHEET TO COMPLETE HELP ME SOLVE THIS

Task: Balance each equation in the mechanism below that shows the formation of ozone (O3) in the atmosphere.


Note: some of the equations below may already be balanced!


(i) In the first step, nitrogen and oxygen combine to form nitrogen monoxide


N2 + O2 ---> NO


(ii) In the next step, nitrogen monoxide reacts with more oxygen to produce nitrogen dioxide


NO + O2 ---> NO2


(iii) When nitrogen dioxide in the upper atmosphere absorbs UV radiation from the sun, it

decomposes to nitrogen monoxide and an oxygen atom


NO2 + UV light ---> NO + O


(iv) In the final step, the highly reactive oxygen atom combines with an oxygen molecule to

form ozone


O + O2 ---> O3
