1) Is not correct because the key word is smaller particles. The truth is that there are smaller parts of animals as you can see there are protons, neutrons and electrons, so that makes this statement false.
2) This is correct.Thr key word is ELEMENT. if it were to have said compound, it would be inaccurate. Compounds have 2 or more elements and as a result, that would make each element in that compound not identical, but as is for the element, yes each atom IS identical.
3) This is not correct. Atoms are the smallest UNIT for Chemical reactions to take place (unless we are talking about nuclear chemistry) it's the smallest base particle at which chemical reactions take place.
4) Atoms of the same element do not form together to form a new substance. This is where we observe this in the element it does not change it is still the same element even. With the atoms bonding to each other. You can observe this with oxygen or O2 and even Chlorine or Cl2. The atoms in these elements bind together diatomically but yet the substance does not change.
