It makes sense looking at the conditions that we have nearly 1 mol gas. Your calculation using the Ideal Gas Law is correct. The only thing I can think of why that answer is not right would be that perhaps it is asking about mol of elemental nitrogen rather than nitrogen gas which is N2. Therefore, for every 1 mol N2, we have 2 mol N,
0.916 mol N2 x 2 mol N / 1 mol N2 = 1.832 mol N
Hopefully that is what the question is looking for but it is confusing!
