Similar molecular and electron geometry, tetrahedral, main difference while CCl4 is non-polar so has just dispersion intramolecular forces between the molecules, CH3Cl is a polar molecule that has the stronger dipole- dipole intramolecular force as well as the weakest dispersion force. This causes CH3Cl to have a lower vapor pressure and a higher boiling point than CCl4.
