books, magazines, online stuff
and have a dictionary handy to look up unfamiliar words. As you get to see their meaning in the context of a sentence. which much better gives the real meanings.
or there's some review courses for people taking an ACT or SAT in verbal. Take one. It costs money but it may be worth it, depending on your income level. or if low enough income, have a friend take it and have them share the materials they get.
or maybe if you're into travel and foreign countries take some courses in other languages, French Spanish, Chinese, Arabic, and you start to notice similar words popping up with the same meaning. Big benefit is expanding job opportunities overseas.
or watch movies, TV, videos, write down any word that you aren't sure of. do flashcards of words you can't remember.
