Kinetic Theory states that all matter is made up of small particles (e.g. - atoms, molecules) that are in motion. Which of the following phenomena cannot be explained with Kinetic Theory?

1. When 4.0 g of magnesium reacts completely with 2.7 g of oxygen, 6.7 g of magnesium oxide is formed. When food coloring is added to water, it disperses throughout the container.

2 A metal bar expands when it is heated.

3The odor of an air freshener spreads throughout a room when only a small amount is sprayed.

4.The pressure of gas in a closed container increases as the temperature is increased.
