I think you've made a mistake in copying this question, or maybe your teacher made a mistake in printing the question.
1. When 4.0 g of magnesium reacts completely with 2.7 g of oxygen, 6.7 g of magnesium oxide is formed. When food coloring is added to water, it disperses throughout the container.
There's two totally different phenomena here. One is the magnesium reaction and the other is the food coloring dispersal. That being said, the answer is the magnesium reaction.
The other answer choices are explained by the Kinetic Theory since they are all related to the physical motion of particles. Molecules move. They move faster at higher temperatures, but they are always moving.
The magnesium reaction phenomena is explained by the law of conservation of mass.
