b) if the student first eliminates two of the five possible answers and guesses from the remaining possibilities, the probability that he or she selects the correct answer to that question is?

a) Probability of getting an answer correct = 1/5 = .2 = 20%

b) After eliminating 2 of the 5 possible answers, that leaves guessing as to the remaining 3 choices

Probability of getting the correct answer is then 1/3 = .333... = about 33%
