Maybe the question should be, how is it that you don't know that fluorine occurs as F2 , not as "f"?
So, write a balanced equation for the reaction. I assume you know what "balanced" means? Then follow the coefficients to see the proportions that occur in the reaction. You should have 3 on the F2 and 2 on the BF3 . Take the ratio and apply it. You might call that "working the reaction".
When you have the # moles of BF3 produced you use the molar mass of BF3 to convert to grams mass of BF3 . We'll assume you know how to add up a molar mass, from the Periodic Table?
