To convert from mass to moles, we divide by the molar mass of the substance. The molar mass is calculated by using the atomic mass of each element on the periodic table, along with the number that corresponds in the formula.
E.g., Molar mass of ZnSO4 = (1 x Zn) + (1 x S) + (4 x O) = 161.47 g/mol
47.3 g x 1 mol/161.47 g = 0.293 moles
