Equivalent capacity is different for parallel and in series connection.

for parallel connection C_eq=C₁+C₂ +C₃ +...C_n

For in series 1/C_eq=1/C₁+1/C₂ +1/C₃ +...1/C_n

Thus, for C_eq=50 F you will need to connect 5 capacitors in parallel; for 0.5 F 5 capacitors in series;

for 35 F 3 capacitors in parallel (30 F) and 2 capacitors in series (5 F), and then connect two groups in parallel.
