Solubility curve problem

A supersaturated solution made with 48 g of sodium nitrate and 40 g of water will eventually precipitate the excess solute. If 13 g of solute precipitates what is the current temperature of the solution?

No way we can answer this without seeing the actual graph of solubility as a function of temperature.

So Eve E., subtract the precipitated solute from the total solute. The difference is what is with the 40 g of water. Hopefully, your solubility curve is in appropriate units -- if it's only in mL final solution, you have additional work to do (finding density of the solution from additional tables, then converting appropriately). -- Cheers, --Mr. d.
