the following are the slope intercept forms, y=mx+b where b, the constant term is the y intercept
1 2y=3x+4
y = (3/2)x + 2
2 3y =-4x - 1/2
y =(-4/3)x - 1/6
3 4x-2y = 3
-2y = -4x +3
y = 2x -3/2
4 2y/3 + 4x = 2
2y/3 = -4x + 2
y = (3/2)(-4x) +(3/2)2
y = -6x + 3
5 2x-7 = 0
has no y intercept and no defined slope
you could try to write it as 0y = 2x -7
then divide by zero, but that's undefined
You can't divide by zero.
y =(2/0)x -7/0 has an undefined slope and undefined intercept. It's a vertical line, parallel to the y axis, so it never intersects the y axis.
