The definition of Molarity (M) tells how many moles of the solute (substance) is in 1 liter of solution.
Therefore a 5M NaCl solution has 5 moles of NaCl in 1 liter of solution. From here you can do the calculation of how many moles is in any # of liters of solution and then using the molar mass calculate the # of grams.
(5 mol NaCl / 1 liter soln ) x (5 liters soln ) x (58.5 g NaCl /1 mol NaCl = 1462.5 g NaCl { calculator answer}
We have sig. fig issue here as you only gave 1 sig fig in the problem??? If the molarity was given as 5.0 M your answer is 1500 g NaCl
