Let P = pineapple cost
Let B = banana cost
Pineapple cost $5.04 ==> P = 5.04
1 banana and 1 pineapple cost same as 13 bananas ==> B + P = 13*B
Plug in the value for P and solve for B
B + 5.04 = 13*B
5.04 = 12*B
B = 0.42
So one banana costs $0.42
Check: B + P = 5.04 + 0.42 = $5.46
13*B = 13*0.42 = $5.46
