Hi Aneta T.,
Your question as asked is (woefully) incomplete.
1) Charles cannot lose 1.0 . That is a pure number. Perhaps he can lose 1.0 pounds of fat? You need to state the units, whatever they are.
2) Charles are 1230 kcal (of food value) "one day". Is he, perhaps, continuing to do so? Or is he fasting, after that day? You need to be more complete! If he's fasting completely, I think he will might die before he loses 5.0 whatevers.
3) Expending 3500 kcal of work equates to losing 1.0 of whatever units you are using (pounds of fat would be my guess). Does Charles know about this? Is he doing this continuously per hour (unlikely, I'm fairly fit for rowing, and I can only manage ~500 kcal/hr), per day, every few days, per week .....? What?
4) Also, Charles has a basal metabolism. That's what his body burns just to stay alive but sedentary (which is probably why he's overweight anyway, hmmm?). That needs to be accounted for in his total energy "tote sheet". Inspect the statement of the original question, for clues as to whether you must find data on the web, to help poor Charles out on his weight-loss program (which you know, of course, should really be called a "mass-loss" program?).

Hi I know this question does not make any sense to me but that is what I have on my assignment. Food value is 1230kcal per day that is how much he eats per day If expending 3500 kcal i equal to loss 1.0 lb how many days will take Charles to lose 5.0 lb01/26/22
