Consecutive Numbers Problem

Hi! Please answer this question for me. It is really confusing when I tried to answer it. I don't know how to answer it. So can someone please explain how to do this problem? I really pretty please need to know how this problem works. So please read this question and solve it,

Remember that whole numbers that are next to each other, for example,2 and 3, or 43,44, and 45 are called consecutive numbers. If n is larger than two consecutive numbers, write an expression for the other number.

Thank you for the help if you solved this!
