Set the equations.

 

x + y = 136                               eq1

Substitute eq1 into eq2 so we can have an equation in terms of y.

 

5.90(136 - y) + 4.30y = 664.80

802.40 - 5.90y + 4.30y = 664.80

802.40 - 1.60y = 664.80

           -1.60y = -137.60
