CIS 145 Term Project: Your Resume Website Project Requirements

Project Requirements (100 marks)

Purpose

To design, develop, and publish a web site on your resume using recommended design practices. Your web site will contain a home page and at least four content pages (five pages total). You are required to create an external style sheet (.css file) that configures text, color, and page layout. (No font tags or inline CSS may be used.) Your content pages must each relate to your resume information. Some examples of content pages include: education, work experience, volunteer experience, skills, projects/portfolio, hobbies, and contact information.

Project Requirements

It’s time to write the HTML and CSS to build your website. You must publish your project to the internet on the UFV webserver. All of the following basic required components must be included in your website:

a)    One e-mail hyperlink

b)    One external hyperlink

c)    Consistent banner logo area

d)    Consistent main navigation

e)    Association with external style sheet (.css file)

All of the following required features must also be added to your website:

  1. Use three column layout
  2. In the home page use a list to describe where (which page) the requirements are met.

§ Utilize tables effectively to display tabular information

§ Use media query makes your pages mobile friendly

§ Contact page must contain a form with at least three different types of elements

  1. Use JavaScript to validate the form element input.
  2. One media feature (ex. An embedded YouTube video, a CSS Image Gallery, or a CSS Transition or Transformation) in the hobby page
  3. Look and feel: your website should look and feel professional. There should be obvious application of the Visual Design Principles, and your use of color should be appropriate.

You must check that your HTML and CSS are valid using validators (provide the screen shot), as this will be a significant portion of the project mark.

Due Date

Friday. Dec 10th, midnight (11:59pm). Submit your project files as a zip file and include the URL to Blackboard and also upload to the UFV webserver.
