How wide should you make the pictures?

You want to include four photos in a special section in the yearbook, two across the page. The page is 6 1/2 inches wide and the left and right margins are 3/4 inch each. The space between the picture is 1/2 inch. How wide should you make the pictures?

Well, base on the question, I will assume it's for 2 pictures for one page.  Therefore, I would do this:  The total width of the page is 6.5 and the spaces the filled the pages are 3/4 inches on the left margin, 1/2 inches between the pictures, and another 3/4 inches on the right margin.

So add up all the spaces (3/4 + 3/4 +1/2=2 inches) and subtract from the total width (6 1/2 inches), then you will get (6 1/2 - 2 = 4 1/2 inches )of pictures spaces.  But since you need to pictures on the same page, just divide that picture space by 2 1/4 for each picture space.

Hope this help, and also hope I'm not too late in your assistance.
