I know this is quite old but for any one else:
When i get this problem its one of a few things
- i need to defragment my computer (you should do this every few months to optimize your space, it isn't difficult, and all you really need to do is google your PC to see how to do it. If i type refrag into my search bar it brings me to an app on my computer to do it)
- sometimes my drivers need to be updated, or my OS
- some of the gamer-y browser extensions i noticed slowed my computer down, by the same logic, sometimes i need to clear my cache to get some speed back.
- disabling start up programs works a lot, having steam and epic and unreal all boot up right at the start can take up a lot of ram
- i also open my task manager to see what software's are eating up the most RAM and close them, sometimes (most times) Discord is running in the background about a million times, I also have found bloatware on my computer by looking at this, and was able to hunt down and remove software on my computer that was taking up space that i never used that just kind of come pre-loaded with the PC.
as a tip, i tend to keep my games on a 4TB external hard drive now, as it is easier to manage the files that way. typically if they are on my local disk, some 'hidden' files will persist on my PC even after i uninstall and old game and install something else. typically where ever it is that the game keeps it's save data. as that is not always the same place as the executable.
