That means that 2 is the logarithm or the exponent
3 is the base, So
32 = x+2 or x + 2 = 9 or x = 9 - 2 = 7
Check: Take log10 of each side.
log10( 32) = log10(7 + 2) or 2log10(3) = log10(9) or 2(.477..) = .954
Finally .954 = .954
