set f(x) = g(x): x+2 = 3/x
Multiply both sides by x to get rid of the fraction part on the right-hand side: x(x+2) = 3
Expand left-hand-side: x2 + 2x = 3
Bring 3 on left hand side: x2 + 2x -3 = 0
That can be factored as (x+3)(x-1)=0 so solutions are x = -3, x = 1
the value of x such that f(x) = g(x) is x = -3 or x =1.
