Subtracting the subtrahend from the minuend (those are the actual goofy terms for a subtraction: minuend - subtrahend = difference) leaves you with
2x2 -9x -3 = 0.
The linear term is the term having x raised to the first power: -9x.
This does not factor easily. If you're not Niels Bohr*, I strongly recommend you use the quadratic formula.
The latter yields answers of x = 4.812 and x = -0.312. (I am not Niels Bohr either.)
