False. According to social contract theory, our obligations are determined by our acceptance of community standards and/or norms that generate those obligations, but the acceptance itself is implicit. Basically, by being a member of society, you accept society's rules. You can reject those obligations, but doing so pretty much requires you to straight up leave.
