14 meters apart. one pole is 3 m high, the other 4.6 m high
find the distance between the tops of the two poles. You know it's more than 14 meters
construct a right triangle: base =14, height = 4.6-3 = 1.6. find the hypotenuse = distance between the tops
d^ 2 = 14^2 + 1.6^2
= 196 + 2.56 = 198.56
d = sqr198.56 = about 14.09 meters or 14.1 meters
You might have estimated about that distance, from drawing a rough sketch or diagram
