I will be answering this question with the following assumptions:
1) f(x) = y
2) -- means minus OR negative.
Problem 1) y = -|x| - 1
Since f(x) = y, we can substitute in the different values for x (0, 1, 2, 3) into f(x) to find their respective outputs.
f(0) = -|0| - 1 | f(1) = -|1| - 1 | f(2) = -|2| - 1 | f(2) = -|3| - 1
f(0) = 0 - 1 | f(1) = -1 - 1 | f(2) = -2 - 1 | f(3) = -3 - 1
f(0) = -1 | f(1) = -2 | f(2) = -3 | f(3) = -4
The similar steps can be taken for solving problem #2.
Simply insert the different values in for f(x), and subtract.
