Using B for bob's age, M for Michelle's age and S for Sara's age:
B = 4M so M = 0.25B and S = 0.5B
And B + M + S = 84
So B + 0.25B + 0.5B = 84
1.75B = 84
B = 48
Again, M = 0.25B
So M = 0.25(48) = 12

what i understand from this problem is: Let michelle age=x Bob's age is 4 times of michelle's ege=4x Sara's age is half of bob's age i.e 4x/2=2x So next, Adding up all of three ages to 84 i.e x+4x+2x=84 7x=84 x=12 So michelle's age is 12 yrs. You can also find bob's and sara's age by putting x in their ages. I hope it helps!08/12/21
