A gallon of unleaded gasoline weighs about 6 pounds. About how many ounces does 1 quart of unleaded gasoline weigh?

Use these conversions:

 

 

1 pound = 16 ounces

 

1 gallon =  128 ounces = 4 quarts

 

 

Answer 2

1 gallon = 6 pounds                     1 gallon is 4 quarts

4 quarts = 6 pounds

1 quart = 6/4 pounds

1 quart = 1.5 pounds                    

 

Converting to ounces is problematic. In liquid measure 1 quart = 16 ounces, which is not the same as weighing 24 ounces.
