These are programs based on what your work requires.
Word: This is when you are typing an essay or letter, however it also has table functions and images. It can be used in multifaceted ways, not just typing.
Excel: This is also called a "spreadsheet" it is designed to input data such as names, numbers or anything you are trying to organize in an objective manner. What is great about excel is you can also manage your data in a way that works best for you such as arranging it in order. You can also take that data and turn it into a pivot table, graphs and other visual observations of your data.
Power Point: Is used to make visual presentations. These can include words, images, graphs etc that is used to engage your listener(s). Not to speak ill of Power Point, but if you need to make a PP presentation using Canva is a more user friendly version.
Outlook: Outlook is the email and calendar portion of Microsoft programs. What is great is the calendar is connected to your email, so if you use your calendar to email an invitation, it will automatically be added to your calendar. There are also amazing calendar functions where you can block time between meetings so that no one can book a time directly after a meeting. You can also link to "My Booking" and people can book open times on your calendar. This is a really great feature to learn.
Overall Microsoft Office has become the program of choice for many companies. Not only could it offer you an easy way to create, most employers will expect employees to be familiar with all of the processes.
