Recall that the concentration of hydronium is given by [H3O+] = 10-pH. Since the pH is 1.6, we get that the concentration of hydronium is 10-1.6 = 0.025 M.
Likewise, the concentration of hydroxide is given by [OH-] = 10-pOH. Remember that pOH is the opposite of pH, defined as 14 - pH. Because pH = 1.6, pOH = 14 - 1.6 = 12.4. So, the concentration of hydroxide is
10-12.4 = 3.98 × 10-13 M.
