The benzene derivatives with electron donating group would be best for the coupling reaction.

Example: PhNMe2 or PhO- ion etc.

Azo coupling reaction is reaction between Aromatice Diazonium ion and another aromatic compound. Aryl diazonium ion acts as electrophile and another aromatic compound that can activate the aromatic group act as nucleophile.

Aromatic compounds attached with electron donating group in the ring,increases Nucleophilicity and they are best for coupling reaction.
