Math, microeconomics or criminal justice
7x-2y = 3
11x- 3/2y = 8 (this might be ambiguous. odds are you really meant 11x-(3/2)y = 8, but as written it
says 11-3/(2y)=8. It could also possibly mean (11x-3)/(2y) = 8
solving for 11x-(3/2)y = 8 multiply by 4 to get
44x -6y = 32. then multiply the 1st equation by 3 to get
21x-6y = 9 then subtract to eliminate y
23x = 23 divide both sides by 23
x =1 substitute 1 into the 1st equation for x
7-2y=3
2y =4
y=2
solution is (x,y) = (1,2) That came out to a simple integer solution, which suggests 11x-(3/2)y=8 is what was intended by the 2nd equation
