y=2x/5 - 1 to find the inverse function, switch x and y, and solve for y
x =2y/5 -1
2y/5 = x+1
y = (5/2)(x+1) = f^-1(x)
f^-1(3) = (5/2)(3+1) = (5/2)4 = 10
f^(.5) = 2(.5)/5 -1 = .2-1 =-.8
f^-1(3) + f^(.5) = 10 + (-.8) = 9.2
