By definition, a mole is a unit that represents 6.02x1023 of something. It can be anything. In science, it typically refers to atoms or molecules, such as glucone. It can also be rocks, dollars, cars, excuses, etc. - it doesn't matter. It means Avogadro's number of items.
!0 moles of glucose will have 6.02x1024 molecules of glucose. Same for 10 moles of anything else. 6.02x1024 items of whatever you have of 10 moles.
The reason is is that number is a long story, but it works well in science.
